hair & makeup

My hair and I have a love/hate relationship. I couldn't imagine myself without long locks, but the upkeep is sometimes a little much. Almost every day I end up with it piled on the top of my head in a bun, held together by bobby pins and tied with a ribbon. The weather has been drizzly and miserable lately, resulting in outbursts of frizz and untameable waves in my hair. When this kind of thing comes around I take bits and pin them to the back of my head, leaving accidental chunks of hair out, bumps and the occasional strand that sticks up on end. I call it "haphazardly pretty".
Makeup is a different story. I am gradually getting better at applying it and learning about it but I need to step out of my comfort zone a little. Two of favourite "not just concealer-and-mascara" looks are the bright lip and the winged eyeliner. MAC lipsticks are my new loves (Cremecup and Sandy B are personal favourites) and my Covergirl eyeliner is like the perfect felt-tip pen. I learnt how to apply winged eyeliner here!
Thanks for all the questions you lovely people have been asking me. Don't be afraid to ask more- I'm gradually answering them! Hope you enjoyed my out-of-my-comfort-zone hair & makeup look. You should try it; being "haphazardly pretty" is fun!

past & present

{A Valentine's Day afternoon tea feast}
{My first attempt at a street style shot. Those shoes...}
{Trying to put together a 'Wardrobe Essentials" post}
{My little sister and friend}
{Making the most of the warm weather with a floral crown}

I have been dramatically reunited with one of my long-lost memory cards and have rediscovered all my random snaps from the past six months or so. A lot of these I was planning on using on my blog, printing out, etc and I thoroughly enjoyed looking through them. It was quite beautiful to rediscover all my random snaps. You really had to be there.
Inspiration has been sadly lacking in my life lately and I would appreciate some questions, topics and suggestions to mix it up a little. Feel free to send any enquiries to my email (viewsofnow@gmail.com) or leave them in a comment below. I am planning on getting back on track a little with my posting and would love some help!

be my valentine

Happy, happy Valentine's Day! In my opinion, today is just an excuse to wear 9 different shades of pink, eat chocolates and not do homework. I am currently very much single and not so much ready-to-mingle. My theory is that this is because I wear boy-repellent clothes and get excited about lame things and kind of find most boys in my year level immature repulsive. Oh well. This means I will lay in my pink bubble bath and read Teen Vogue and sing at the top of my lungs.
I accidentally spent a lot more than I intended on this bustier at Urban Outfitters bit am determined to wear it so much that I won't even care. It is the most frivolous and sparkly thing in my wardrobe and works perfectly with this outfit mash-up of girly pinks. My shoes got slightly ruined while I was taking these photos. I must really love you guys.
School has been insane lately and I have not been posting as much as I would like to be. With all this mentally draining work I have to do my brain is lacking in post ideas. Please give me some ideas! Send any questions you would like to be answered, posts you would like to see etc, to my email: viewsofnow(at)gmail(dot)com. Spread the love.

Ps. The ladies over at The Tale of Two Buttons interviewed me and it was so much fun! Check it out here.

lately

 {Macaroons from our trip to the city! Finally!}
 {Beautiful pastel embellished blouse}
 {The best body scrub in the world}
{Valentine's Day fairy lights from Maria}

These things keep me sane in the chaos that is currently my life. Last week was full of -ugh- school and this week the best Mother ever took me into the city. We found macaroons after hours of searching in Starbucks and Copenhagen and bought about 11. It's kind of a big deal. As we were walking to catch the train a man stood, absolutely fixated on these macaroons, just staring at them in my hands. He then proceeded to run after us asking-in broken English- where we had gotten our "cakes". It was sweet, but by the determination in his eyes you would have thought he was going to pounce on me and wrestle the macaroons from my hands. J'adore the city.
