november interview

Now will you all please say hello to the lovely Camilla from Into The Fold, my interviewee for this month! She has been so patient with my emailing and I must admit, I am slightly starstruck as I have been in love with her blog for so long. Enjoy the inspiration!

1. What made you want to start your blog?
My friend was starting one up, and she suggested that I do it too. I've always been really conscious of what I'm wearing, so a fashion blog seemed the natural way to go.

2. Is there a trend that you would never wear?

I'm not really down with Camel colours and Mustard yellow, mainly because they really don't suit me with my blonde hair- other than that I like to try all trends just to see if I like them, but then again if I buy something- whether or not it's in trend isn't relevant to me, If I like it I'll wear it.

3. Is your young age a benefit or a drawback in the fashion world?
It's probably a benefit, I love being so involved at such a young age, and attending shows and press days is such great experience for when it's time for me to try to make my own way when I'm older.

4. Where are your favourite places to shop?

Oxford Street, hands down. It may always be busy, but they have everything you need, and all the shops sell their best stock in the Oxford street shops too.

5. What does fashion mean to you?
Fashion to me is something indescribable. It's just so massive and beyond most peoples comprehension. It's a mix of art, business and a war zone, it's always exciting and it's ever changing- I don't even know how you could describe something like that?

6. Do you have any advice for aspiring fashion bloggers?

Be individual and stick to your values, always be true to yourself and people will respect you so much more.

a pop of colour

Forever New shorts, Miss Shop knit, Italian lace singlet

It is feeling a bit more like winter than spring lately, and what better way to celebrate than to wear a light knit, and some colourful shorts! I am so drained from all the schoolwork I have been doing lately so these shorts are a great pick-me-up. And of course, I matched a little lipstick to the shorts for a more put-together look.
The new launch of my blog's Facebook "like" page has commenced, so get your cursors over and start liking! It's great for updates, getting in touch with me or previews for upcoming posts! Also, I have decided I am going to try and do an interview with a different blogger every month, I already have my November girl picked out and you're going to love her!

an interview inspiration

I am so happy to share with you all my interview with the lovely Natalie from Lucy and the Runaways. She has some great advice, amazing taste and some to-die for outfits!

Why did you initially start your blog?
I was working in fashion buying for at least a year and a half before I realized it was not fulfilling my needs, and I needed a more creative outlet. I was working under another buyer and was never able to express myself and my views. I decided to release all that through my blog Lucy and the Runaways, just for fun. After my first few posts, I felt so much more a part of the fashion community and that I really felt like I was doing something important for myself, so I kept posting more and more.

What are your wardrobe staples?
-A leather jacket of good quality.
-A signature piece of jewellery or accessory. Mine are my two necklaces I wear around my neck everyday.
-A ballerina tulle skirt (for those days you feel you have nothing to wear).

What is your favourite trend at the moment?
I guess this is more of a hair trend (they all tie in together anyways)-  but I love dyed tips that sit about 3/4 down your hairline (think Rumi Neely).

What does fashion mean to you?
It's the best and most personal creative outlet anyone could ever have. There are so many items out there to choose from, but you ultimately have the choice of what to wear as a base (like a dress, a tee, or pants), and its ultimately your own personal tastes and vision when it comes to picking the accessories and layers and shoes to compliment it. Making your own outfit whole.

Do you have any other hobbies or interests?
-Photography.
-Drawing and Illustration.
-Listening to Music and attending music festivals/concerts.
-Zumba (yes I enjoy dancing!)

Do you have any advice for aspiring fashion bloggers?-Never give up, if you want your blog to be successful, it definitely doesn't happen overnight - it can take a year or two to get really noticed.
-Always have good content that leave your readers wanting to come back again and again.
-And always be kind-hearted on your blog. Mean people always get what they deserve (karma).
