an interview inspiration

I am so happy to share with you all my interview with the lovely Natalie from Lucy and the Runaways. She has some great advice, amazing taste and some to-die for outfits!

Why did you initially start your blog?
I was working in fashion buying for at least a year and a half before I realized it was not fulfilling my needs, and I needed a more creative outlet. I was working under another buyer and was never able to express myself and my views. I decided to release all that through my blog Lucy and the Runaways, just for fun. After my first few posts, I felt so much more a part of the fashion community and that I really felt like I was doing something important for myself, so I kept posting more and more.

What are your wardrobe staples?
-A leather jacket of good quality.
-A signature piece of jewellery or accessory. Mine are my two necklaces I wear around my neck everyday.
-A ballerina tulle skirt (for those days you feel you have nothing to wear).

What is your favourite trend at the moment?
I guess this is more of a hair trend (they all tie in together anyways)-  but I love dyed tips that sit about 3/4 down your hairline (think Rumi Neely).

What does fashion mean to you?
It's the best and most personal creative outlet anyone could ever have. There are so many items out there to choose from, but you ultimately have the choice of what to wear as a base (like a dress, a tee, or pants), and its ultimately your own personal tastes and vision when it comes to picking the accessories and layers and shoes to compliment it. Making your own outfit whole.

Do you have any other hobbies or interests?
-Photography.
-Drawing and Illustration.
-Listening to Music and attending music festivals/concerts.
-Zumba (yes I enjoy dancing!)

Do you have any advice for aspiring fashion bloggers?-Never give up, if you want your blog to be successful, it definitely doesn't happen overnight - it can take a year or two to get really noticed.
-Always have good content that leave your readers wanting to come back again and again.
-And always be kind-hearted on your blog. Mean people always get what they deserve (karma).

beach vibes

So I dug up a heap of my old photos, and realised, they kind of fit together. Anyway, I think it looks good. Beachy, hippie, friendship bracelety. The first photo is from Woodford, and the second is this necklace I got given by my neighbours which fits beautifully with the top from the first photo. The third is just a picture I snapped before going to the beach. The fourth is my favourite place ever, possibly on the Earth but I'm not quite sure yet. So much funner than Science homework.

Rain

Well, hello there! I have been very blog-deprived lately, on account of the fact that our computer crashed (not to mention i Tunes-deprived). The spearhead necklace was a gift to my Great-Grandmother from my Great-Grandfather, who was a Cherokee himself. I do adore it, but it is pretty hard to pair with one of my outfits. I am from now on making an effort to wear it, and if anyone annoys me, I can just spear them! Um, jokes.

lookbookin'

Lookbook is now my official addiction. If you want to check it out, I am on there, Izzy Rose. I am also super excited for my new laptop, even if it was from school and isn't exactly what I had in mind, it works, is new and I can lookbook and blog from it. What more is there to ask?

last days of summer

My Birdy denim shorts, chick-a-booti lace vest, ambra body cropped singlet (worn underneath) , Mum's necklace.

I would have preferred this to be at a beach but hey, you get what you're given.

woodfordia

If you go for the day you get so tired that the only photos you feel compelled to take are ones of your feet outside a nice Indian lady's massage stall.
Woodford is coming up again. Now normally I would grumble about how tired I get from walking around for the whole day whilst trying to cram in everything the festival has to offer, but no! This time I get to go for a full, blissful week (well maybe not blissful, but fun) while wearing really cool gumboots with little owls on them. What more could anyone want? Except the Cat Empire, which coincidentally are playing there on December 27th! I see a "Woodford Wardrobe" post in my future ...
