latest miu miu

I am so unbelievably obsessed with this Miu Miu as it seems it was made for me. Hailee Steinfeld, young up-and-comer, has shown amazing style in the past, and I have had her on my radar for a while. She looks so lovely and grown-up in these photos, and glittery shoes! Who doesn't love glittery shoes?!

Plus, it has the bird print reminiscent to this collection in it, which caught my eye a long time ago and is currently up on my wall. The vintage-y photos capture just the right amount of glamour and makes me want to go and capture the essence of glamour myself! If only it were that easy. I have been searching for the perfect photo shoot outfit and no inspiration is jumping out at me from my colour-coded wardrobe. Unfortunately, sitting in a freezing classroom all day does not provide the kind of fashion miracle idea I am looking for. Oh well, if you too are lacking style guidance, Topshop has some clothes worth the shipping payment for sale at the moment. Favourite piece? The Teal Colour Block Pleated Dress. An ocean of  blue, jewel-toned colour!

new things, old things

I have been strapped for inspiration lately, as I bought the new Harper's Bazaar, seeking it out, and found I did not enjoy it at all. I found all the new clothing and accessories were in boring, monochromatic colours, oversized and swamped the tiny, slicked models wearing them. A little harsh, but I spent a whole $11 on that! The only good part was the Jane Eyre- inspired photo shoot with the fabulous Mia Wasikowska.

Well, attempted taking some photos of my new top but the lighting was all wrong (either that or my old, low-quality camera!) so I got a photo from the American Apparel website. My lovely, wonderful Grandma got it for me and it's a peach colour, slightly sheer. It's so perfect for the summer-in-winter I've been wanting so much.

Aside from the top, I received several pairs of socks, most lacy and with bows. They are so cute but not in this post, the images are courtesy of weheartit.com. The socks will go nicely with my new leather Vans, which are the perfect blend of brogue-ish class and skater shoe cred. I will have some of my photos up as soon as possible, keep posted!

when winter comes

Winter is probably my favourite season. Hot chocolate, stylish layers, being able to have a doona on your bed at night? I think yes. To commemorate a very cold day today I put together some of my favourite winter accessory sets. All scarves are my Mother's (meaning I have no idea where they came from) and the hats and gloves are from either the Alpaca Shop or Big W (bargains, ok?). So layer up and get inspired!

cowboys and indians

So I just found out my great-grandfather was a Cherokee! How exciting is that? All I need now is a feather headdress (which I have wanted for ages, just informing you). Actually, I have always loved Navaho-inspired things. My Mum has an amazing jewellery collection containing some Indian pieces- such as the squash blossom Navaho necklace in this shoot I did. I also have a plaited-leather-feather thing, I feel a photo shoot coming on! Enjoy this inspiration.

doll house

Pure linen top, Rodarte for Target skirt, Target boots, Miller's pullover.
dollhouse

Easter has successfully passed and I now have roughly two kilograms of chocolate! Okay, so maybe I exaggerated a little, but it seems like that. This photo shoot was inspired by dolls, doll houses etc. And because I am currently obsessed I made a polyvore of doll-inspired buys. Bows, lots of bows! The skirt is Rodarte for Target and has the most amazing detail (and a matching cardigan). The second shot is strange but it is actually me trying to cram myself into a tiny cubby house while wearing a Miller's pullover (don't ask). My Easter outfit ended up breaking the tradition! I wore this voluminous red skirt and I got a new pocket watch (with pearls!). What did you wear?

Autumn Loves

Autumn Loves

Autumn Loves by Izzy Rose featuring flat sunglasses

Ah, my must-haves for Autumn! I guess the point of having must-haves is that you must have them, but as I finished I discovered that I cannot afford almost anything that I put in this collage. It's the thought that counts. For those who have money, you will be most coveted if you wear my must-haves. Is this dress not absolutely adorable? And with that Chanel bag, my oh my...

What are your must haves for Autumn?

happy skirts

Happy skirt

Newest fragrance obsession

The Emma Watson for Teen Vogue shoot that inspired me

A skirt for a musical was based on the skirt on the far left, sketched by me

I seem to have had a lot to do with Dolce and Gabbana lately. First, I found a perfume that I adore and can actually afford from their anthology series just recently. Second, I designed a skirt for Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz based on one from this D&G collection for a musical, and it looks fantastic! How exciting is that? Oh, and I just recently (a hour ago) grew out of a very expensive skirt bought for me for a very expensive wedding that reminds me very much of the voluminous ones modelled by Chanel Iman in a collection that I cannot name for D&G. Whew, long sentence. Anyway, I took the skirt and forced it over my head so I could do one last model of it... and got stuck trying to get out of it. But that's besides the point. The point is, how could you not be happy wearing an impossibly voluminous skirt with layers of ruffles?

beach vibes

So I dug up a heap of my old photos, and realised, they kind of fit together. Anyway, I think it looks good. Beachy, hippie, friendship bracelety. The first photo is from Woodford, and the second is this necklace I got given by my neighbours which fits beautifully with the top from the first photo. The third is just a picture I snapped before going to the beach. The fourth is my favourite place ever, possibly on the Earth but I'm not quite sure yet. So much funner than Science homework.

Chambray love

This look includes my dad's shirt which I have tried so many times to style but finally got it right! With my Miss Shop boots, as always... they make every outfit better. The Dotti boater helps too, even if I can't wear it in public due to the lack of stability on my head.

last days of summer

My Birdy denim shorts, chick-a-booti lace vest, ambra body cropped singlet (worn underneath) , Mum's necklace.

I would have preferred this to be at a beach but hey, you get what you're given.

My Gram's house

Xhilaratilon skirt, Cherokee shirt, Mum's silk scarf, Henry bag, and cameo brooch purchased by my Gram in Europe in 1965.

This shoot was absolutely inspired by my Gram's house. She has an amazing, unique styling to her home that makes you feel luxurious. Velvet, gold, tassles, perfume, silk, lace. I have dreams about her house all the time, and I wake up missing the pine smell of her walls and the gold accents of her Ralph Lauren sheets, her Eiffel tower collection and her Spode plates and bowls.

I got this bag yesterday from an op shop for $12.50 and it reminded me of her, so I styled it up and made it Gramish. I Googled it, and apparently this bag does not exist on Google. Oh well, I will tell people "Henry" is an expensive brand that is situated in Paris and he only ever made one like mine. That's how I roll.
