new things, old things

I have been strapped for inspiration lately, as I bought the new Harper's Bazaar, seeking it out, and found I did not enjoy it at all. I found all the new clothing and accessories were in boring, monochromatic colours, oversized and swamped the tiny, slicked models wearing them. A little harsh, but I spent a whole $11 on that! The only good part was the Jane Eyre- inspired photo shoot with the fabulous Mia Wasikowska.

Well, attempted taking some photos of my new top but the lighting was all wrong (either that or my old, low-quality camera!) so I got a photo from the American Apparel website. My lovely, wonderful Grandma got it for me and it's a peach colour, slightly sheer. It's so perfect for the summer-in-winter I've been wanting so much.

Aside from the top, I received several pairs of socks, most lacy and with bows. They are so cute but not in this post, the images are courtesy of weheartit.com. The socks will go nicely with my new leather Vans, which are the perfect blend of brogue-ish class and skater shoe cred. I will have some of my photos up as soon as possible, keep posted!

Small town world

So for Valentines Day, (still going on about it) my family and I had a quaint brunch in the cutest little town. I decided to experiment with the look a little, with the dress that I made and have never worn. Paired with my new boots from Target, ( I know right! $50!) and some mismatched bracelets, (The ones that didn't somehow get stuck together with a mysterious purple glue) it looked pretty cute. Not sure what the vibe was, but still cute.

So, just the usual has been happening. Math exams, boiling hot weather and a lot of reading (mainly The Clique). What's been happening with you, fellow bloggers?

pavement pounders

So I totally had surgery. And it was really cool. Anesthetic is nice.
I had an infection, blah blah blah. I will spare you the details.

I am very aware that holidays will soon end, and the days will stop blurring together and I will have to stop watching Gilmore Girls for hours every day. And there is no better way to spend the last of the holidays than taking the train into the big city. Shopping for no actual clothes and getting distracted by the many different languages Vogue comes in and buying them all.

General Pants Co. is even cooler than I imagined, and all the shorts are really distressed and high waist and all acid-y, just the way I like them. The best though, was probably this wedding dress shop that I conveniently forgot the name of but is in this alley, and I have decided that I'm going to get married in one of their dresses and have a child that looks like Georgia May Jagger.
