katie ermilio

I came across these lovely designs by Kate Ermilio while on Tumblr... something I have been doing a lot lately, I guess I like the freedom of randomly posting photos without saying anything! Back on topic, this collection (which is the Spring '12) is absolutely beautiful, so feminine and full of pastels. You can find the slideshow here. Completely and utterly up my alley.

faded summer

So it has officially gotten too hot to wear anything but a singlet and mini-shorts. This leaves me slightly strapped for clothing options but I plan on going shopping as soon as possible. I was incredibly tempted to buy something from The Iconic online shop just for their three-hour shipping... I could of had the post up by the end of the day! But no, for right now I will have to settle with my Woodford vintage shorts, Ladakh tank, Oakley bikini top and Dotti sunglasses. If you're Australian, have a nice cold glass of... something. Let's not melt in this heat.

garden

These are just a few top-half shots I took on a lazy morning, showing off my sparkly new nails. I have been in a slight funk lately and Revlon's "Silver Dollar" has been a constant pick-me-up. That and the lush vanilla bath bomb I got. Getting back on topic, this top from American Apparel is so amazing for layering as it is sheer, but not too sheer that I can't wear it as a top. Messy plaits have been my go-to hairstyle lately, it looks good and is easy (Hello, messy?)! I also got sunglasses (finally) that look really good with the plait.

happy monday

I hope you are all as excited about my giveaway as I am! I can't wait to see who wins. I am hoping to do more giveaways, they are just so nifty (one of the most embarrassing words in the English language, but a prefect description). I just have one little reminder: That you MUST be a follower of Views of Now to be entered. Sorry, but I can't enter you if you aren't.

I am also skyrocketing the fashion aspect of my blog because I am getting a new camera! A proper, amazing photo-taking one! Thanks to my lovely Grandmother, I can now show you all my looks in high quality. Speaking of my looks, in this photo I am wearing a new blouse I got from Minkpink. I am a pretty regular customer for that brand, and for $42 I thought this was a good deal. It is sheer, long-sleeved (sale because it was a winter item) and had gorgeous ruffles. You like?

elle fanning for lula

Elle Fanning has always been a love of mine, her style, how she composes herself, her angelic looks. So when the lovely Maria told me about her photo shoot for Lula magazine, (which I have never read but hey, I might now) I flipped for the elegant florals and floaty tops. She also has excellent taste. You can read an exert from her interview with Lula here, and see the pictures. I adore her young, fresh look.

Today has been lovely and lazy, catching up on sleep and reading magazines all day. Among Polyvore, dancing is one of my latest obsessions, as I started Ballet the other day. I love the shoes, and the elegance, and the little skirts! Expect a dance-infused post soon. Well I am off to make a lemon self-saucing pudding with my little white apron and Eiffel Tower lemon zester. Thank you to all my new followers!

ruffeldy

After an increasingly frustrating experience with blogger (see my last post) I stopped being angry and decided to do a post based around my adorable ruffle shorts, which I talked about in this post. Though, after trying to get whimsical-yet-trendy photos, I ended up with two that I liked. Out of a lot. I'm not a fan of fractions, but I know that is an incredibly maddening percentage. So I hope you like the photos, not the best but I had to post them. I paired the shorts with my American Apparel top, talked about in this post. I can't wait for Summer, when I can pair this with a pair of lovely sandals and an armful of silver bracelets!

purple

I got the inspiration for these photos partly because I was lazy and partly because I wanted to experiment with beauty. My normal beauty routine consists of mascara, mineral powder and concealer, occasionally eyeliner. I rarely go out of my comfort zone as I am not sure how to and these purple-ish lips are about as far as I've gone. I read about how to do them first in Teen Vogue (and modified that a little). I got my Hissyfit berry lipgloss and some dark purple eyeshadow and mixed them up and applied it to my lips with a brush. Not the best technique, but apparently gets a "pigmented" colour. I was much too lazy to do full body shots so wore my new favourite Pink Rogue peter pan collar top which I also featured here. Hope you enjoy my first step at wearing bold makeup.

neverland

Princess Polly shirt (underneath), Miss Shop jumper, Mother's skirt.

I have been obsessing over peter pan collars for a pretty long time now. I guess it's just the sheer whimsicality and innocence that is depicted in my mind when I think of them. When I bought the top, my mother said she had one "just like it, though it had sleeves of course". Bloggers, I think I have met the shop that is made for me. Everything in it I would buy. I had pictured, before I even entered the shop, myself in some of the clothes. It was destiny that brought me and Princess Polly together. Of course, I couldn't afford everything in the store so I settled on the gorgeous Wind Chime top (the shirt underneath in these pictures) and the Hotel shorts. I'm sure you will see them in an upcoming post, if I survive that long. My lovely mother jetted off to America and left me behind, and I miss her dearly. But kudos to her for having this skirt in her wardrobe.

happenings

So I am having a lovely day with fellow blogger Maria! She made the amazing floral skirt in the photos above, she is very talented. Also, I got my room makeover! It includes an amazing queen-sized bed and a wall overhaul. Doesn't look like the one in my post as I changed my
colour scheme, but now I can roll over in my bed and not fall out!

The three photos below are pre-room makeover.

suburbia

So this is the legendary birthday outfit from my last post. I styled it with my tortoiseshell sunglasses and the one and only Miss Shop boots. It was very inspired by Rumi Neely (first photo) because she is such a great person to be inspired by! I sort of want to reach in my computer screen and grab every outfit she wears. Or something like that.

bowtie

Country Road shirt, Billabong cutoffs, Miss Shop boots, Rodarte for Target bowtie, Dotti boater.

So I've decided to jump on the bandwagon of another trend. I haven't lookbooked lately at all, but had so much fun recreating their trends. So is this a wearable trend or what? I'm voting yes, when worn the right way. And as for the girls vs boys situation... I just can't decide. But I love a nice guy in a bowtie. Who doesn't?

maxi skirt

So here is my take on the winter long skirt- and mine is reversible and made by my Mother! I wore the other side (as a dress) in this photo shoot. It's amazing how many different ways you can wear something. So my take on the skirt is a little on the forest nymph side- considering the fact that I do not own any high heels, chunky knits (that look good with the skirt), satchels or maxi cardigans. But if you're planning to work the trend, it can go either way or you can give it a ladylike touch like my fellow blogger Maria. Thanks to lookbook for the trend filled first photo- I am planning to work one of their other trends sometime soon. So work that nymph-like ensemble.

flower child

So my little obsession with floral wreaths has elevated recently due to my Mother making the costumes for an amazing musical, The Wiz! Exciting, I think yes.

My little obsession started with my first photo shoot shot by a family friend, in my favourite ballet outfits (I was right into that kinda thing) and a homemade floral wreath. It was pure inspiration (she says modestly). So ever since, I have sported many a floral wreath including a bridal-like one in the dressup box. My Mother made the one in this first photo, and it lights up! The rest of the lovely photos are courtesy of weheartit. Sport a wreath every now and again, it's too whimsical to resist.

doll house

Pure linen top, Rodarte for Target skirt, Target boots, Miller's pullover.
dollhouse

Easter has successfully passed and I now have roughly two kilograms of chocolate! Okay, so maybe I exaggerated a little, but it seems like that. This photo shoot was inspired by dolls, doll houses etc. And because I am currently obsessed I made a polyvore of doll-inspired buys. Bows, lots of bows! The skirt is Rodarte for Target and has the most amazing detail (and a matching cardigan). The second shot is strange but it is actually me trying to cram myself into a tiny cubby house while wearing a Miller's pullover (don't ask). My Easter outfit ended up breaking the tradition! I wore this voluminous red skirt and I got a new pocket watch (with pearls!). What did you wear?

pocketwatch

Dotti Blouse,  Billabong cut-offs, Target boots, Diva pocketwatch.

So this is not my best effort, but I figured I should probably put it up anyway. I love this blouse, it's perfect for a subtropical winter, and of course I had to put in an Alice in Wonderland book. Thanks to the lovely Maria for photography and I hope you are all getting ready for Easter, as it is one of my favourite holidays. Because hey, who doesn't love Jesus?
